Frequently Asked Questions

What is the subscription term?

worX uses a Term SaaS subscription model. The subscription is an annual subscription, with a minimum of 1 year duration, which is billed annually in advance.

What is a user subscription bundle?

Each worX bundle from Starter, Business and Enterprise plans allows up to five human licenses to access worX in addition to the existing BLOX and AWSH tools already available to the community as Open Source. For more details please see the EULA

What is considered a user license?

Each user license will allow one human to access worX in addition to the existing BLOX and AWSH tools already available to the community as Open Source. For more details please see the EULA

What is considered a platform license?

Each platform license will allow a designated software, automation or orchestration service to access worX in addition to the existing BLOX and AWSH tools already available to the community as Open Source. This license is specifically intended where customers wish to enable and accelerate larger numbers of users by combining the catalog of patterns in worX with software, automation or orchestration. Due to the nature of the technical integration required, platform access tokens are not subject to enforced rotation for security. For more details please see the EULA

What are the differences between user and platform licenses?

  • User licenses are for named users who will make use of worX as individuals. This represents the standard use-case with AWS of 1:1, where 1 user makes use of 1 worX user license to manage resources in AWS accounts, taking actions (via AWS API calls) as their assigned (AWS) user.
  • Platform licenses are for designated software, automation or orchestration services where many users (or bots) on a separate platform will take actions that result in use of worX. This would be N:1, where N users make use of 1 platform license to manage resources in AWS accounts by having the platform take actions on their behalf.

How do I gain access to worX?

After subscribing to worX, one of the Hestio team will be in touch with the subscription owner to provide details on how you can onboard your users or platform and to arrange an initial onboarding session. If you want to learn more about the technical aspects of how you can connect your existing tools to use worX we have described all of the necessary steps over on our Online Documentation here

Do I get to keep the code?

After your subscription expires you are entitled to retain the last accessible version of any code downloaded prior to your subscription expiry date. You won't receive the benefits of security updates and improvements or get access to new Patterns but you get to keep what you already have, bound by the same terms of the EULA

What is Roadmap Accelerator access?

If there's a Pattern in the roadmap and you'd like to pull it forward to accelerate a project we can help enable you. This is great for customers who want to take advantage of leading edge capabilities on AWS as soon as possible. If the Pattern being accelerated is large or complex there is likely to be a supplemental charge for this.

I would like to have a new Pattern added to worX that isn't on the roadmap. Can I?

We try to avoid adding or creating new Patterns to worX that are specific to single use-cases or domains (finance, data-science, LLM, etc). This is mostly down to the AWS APIs (and therefore Terraform) not always having full or actively maintained support for all of the features. If you are making use of either the Business or Enterprise plan feel free to open a support case to discuss your options.
